The Recovery Process
While many people focus on the period before and during a face lift, it is always a good idea to plan for the period of face lift recovery. Here are a few things to keep in mind that will help your time of face lift recovery be as comfortable as possible.
First, make sure you have plenty of time for your face lift recovery. This means either putting in for a reasonable amount of vacation days, or at least making some plans to cover the lost income you will incur as a result of being away from the job for several days. Making sure that your income and expenses are taken care of during your face lift recovery will lessen the stress of the period, which means your body will not divert necessary resources to deal with the stress.
Another factor to consider for your face lift recovery is that you will most likely need something to help deal with the pain from the surgery. Consult your physician about both prescription and over the counter medications that you could have on hand. If at all possible, have the medications in the home before you enter the hospital or clinic for your face lift. Chances are, you will not be interested in waiting for the medication once you get home.
It is also important to arrange caregivers that will be there once your face lift recovery period begins. This may be a member of the family, a trusted friend, or someone that you hire for the duration of your convalescence. Make sure that the caregiver knows what to do if some sort of complication arises, as well as what type of support you expect during your face lift recovery time. Making these sorts of arrangements ahead of time will mean that you can focus on simply recovering from the procedure and not spend much energy figuring out how to get things done.
